Does Roadie 3 work on instruments besides the guitar?
Absolutely! Roadie is compatible with ukuleles, banjos, mandolins and any instrument with guitar machine heads fitted with strings of gauge up to 75. Other instruments that can be tuned with Roadie 3 include lap steel guitars, pedal steel guitars, dobro square neck, and dobro round neck. However, please note that Roadie 3 does not work on Bass Guitars or instruments with a string gauge above 75 as it requires more torque (bigger motor) to rotate their machine heads. Check Roadie Bass for tuning bass guitars or other instruments with a string gauge up to 140. In addition, Roadie 3 is unable to tune any instruments equipped with wooden friction pegs (such as the violin and viola). If you install planetary pegs on those instruments, Roadie will work normally.
What is the difference between Roadie 3 and other Roadies?
Roadie 3 is quite an improvement when compared to its predecessors. It is faster and includes many new features, over 150 built-in tunings, a full-color dynamic display, and a metronome function. For more details, check out this side-by-side comparison between Roadie 3, Roadie 2 and Roadie Bass.
